Wir kommen aus Andromeda (We come from Andromeda, 2020/2025)

“Wir kommen aus Andromeda(We come from Andromeda)” tells the story of Äli, a alien character born from the artist’s experience of being discriminated against for being “different” during her life in Europe. Reflecting on the discrimination she endured, the artist recalls her childhood in Korea and confesses through the work, acknowledging moments when she, too, treated people from abroad in similar ways due to ignorance. This installation, which uses lighting and mirrors to directly show the audience changing skin tones, emphasizes that prejudice and exclusion often stem from a lack of understanding and encourages everyone to reflect on their own perspectives.
