Auf dem Rohrweg(On the Pipe-Way, 2025)
Sound Installation / Pipes, Objects, Live-data system and 8-Channel Sound
“Auf dem Rohrweg(On the Pipe-Way)” is a sound installation that bridges industrial history with contemporary artistry by intertwining the physical utility of pipes – water transport and supply – with their metaphorical capacity to convey the sounds and atmospheres of connected locations. This project creates a symbolic, invisible network where physical fluids and immaterial soundscapes converge into a single experience. To achieve this, real-time data or recordings from sites linked to the Mülheim Water Tower’s piping system are transformed into synchronized light and sound movements. These elements are then channeled into the tower’s third floor via pipes integrated with speakers and LED stripes, turning the industrial infrastructure into a living conduit of sensory information.
