Leftovermontage (2024)
Multimedia Installation / Video, Objects and 2-Channel Sound
‘Leftover-Montage’ is a montage that blends all sounds and materials from the process of making a photomontage, in tribute to Peter Roehr. It captures every step of creating a photomontage, from taking a scene from a video advertisement to the final touches. This includes gathering ‘leftover’ items like photo pieces cut out leaving empty spaces, and materials that were edited and not used. The creation involves downloading video clips, selecting a scene, ordering prints, and assembling the photomontage, while recording all the sounds involved. This approach brings attention to aspects usually missed in the finished artwork, turning them into an artwork of their own.

The advertising video used is the work of the only company that gave me permission to use it (See this related work: Artist’s request), and I filtered out the cigarettes and the company name as requested from them.
